Lighting
The lighting is probably the worst feature of all, the worst of the design and where the most corners have been cut.Apart from a small under-unit light in the kitchen cooking area, the only light in the kitchen/living area is one in the living area – far away from the kitchen. There is no light for the eating area, nor anywhere else in the kitchen.
The orignal light in the main bedroom was on the wall, just above the doorframe where it would catch on the door and illuminate the door alcove and nothing else. It has since be moved to another part of the room which is marginally better but prone to be knocked by the window if opened.
None of the lights came with any fittings!
Surely it is not normal to build a property without any decent lighting! Surely it is not unreasonable to expect this to be an accepted requirement!
We subsequently found out that whereas most plans stipulate the exact number of lighting and electric points etc, these plans did not have a separate lighting plan and the specifics were covered in a vague ‘electrics will be suitably placed’ phrase. So, of course we don’t have any cause for complaint.
